Help test AmbientCast
Two printers built this app. Yours might be the third.
AmbientCast is written and tested against exactly two machines — a P2S and an H2C, both in one house. Everything the app knows about every other Bambu Lab printer is inferred from documentation, from other people's code, and from what users report. Most of the time that is enough. When it isn't, the app fails on hardware nobody here can switch on.
What would help most
If you own one of these, there is a specific open question attached to it:
- A1 or A1 mini — automatic discovery finds the H-series machines and the P2S, and does not find these. Nobody here can see why.
- A2L — one report of a manual add failing where other apps connect fine. A fix shipped in September 2026 that has never been confirmed against the machine that reported it.
- A2L running an AMS and an AMS Lite together — the app's model of filament slots has never seen two different unit types at once.
- AMS HT — supported entirely on the strength of documentation. No report from a real one has ever been read.
What helping looks like
Low effort, and not a commitment. Email support@mcmizzle.com saying which machine you have. Useful things, in rough order:
- Whether the app finds your printer automatically, and whether adding it by hand works.
- A screenshot of anything that looks wrong — a filament row with the wrong slots, a status that contradicts the printer's own screen.
- On iPhone or iPad, AmbientCast can export a diagnostics bundle from Settings. Access codes, camera usernames and passwords, and printer serial numbers are replaced before it is written, and you can read the whole thing before deciding to send it.
No account, no sign-up, nothing installed beyond the app itself — which is free, and has no paid tier to upsell you to. If you would rather just report the bug and move on, that is support, and it is equally welcome.
Fixes that come out of this get written up in the open: every issue mentioned above is a real one, tracked with the measurements that produced it.
